BIO:  Jim Hanson’s 25+ years of experience as a Senior-level Project Manager in nearly every category (Healthcare, Commercial, Hospitality, Higher Education, K-12, Government and Residential) has fueled his zeal for training and encouraging those around him. Strong leadership is essential for teamwork, and he’s proven this by managing complicated projects while also developing and maintaining strong team and client relationships. Teaching and leading his construction teams successfully helps to exceed his clients’ expectations and results in both their repeat business and valuable friendships. Jim serviced in the USMC and is a Veteran. He also taught part-time Construction Management class for ITT Technical Institute for six years.

Jim has a strong background in refrigeration equipment. And he understands the importance of keeping storage temperature requirements in place. He also has experience with phasing projects; strategic and thoughtful step-based planning was required to get the work done without undue disruption.

Prior to his time at iugis, Jim Hanson was the project manager with Skanska that led a project with Perkins + Will for Kaiser. This project consisted of a 98,000-sf, 5-story conversion from corporate office building to medical facility. The building was on a fast-track 90-day schedule. One interior elevator and a new chiller were added, and the rooftop penthouse was also extended. Kaiser added new nurse stations, lounge areas, conference rooms, laboratories, and classrooms on each floor. Jim was responsible for updating their data and electrical to a fully automated system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  By working collaboratively with the Senior Superintendent, Jim synchronizes the efforts of the team, various sub-contractors, design firms and architects to ensure a successful, efficient and on-schedule project.
